Privacy Policy

Last updated 22 October 2026

This policy explains how Highlander Removals uses the personal information you give us when you visit this website, ask for a quote, or book one of our services.

Who we are

Highlander Removals, 61 Dell Road, Inverness, IV2 4TZ, is responsible for your personal information (the “data controller”). You can contact us at Highlander.Removals@gmail.com or on 07724 133305.

What we collect

When you contact us or book with us, we may collect:

How we use it

Our legal reasons are: it is needed to provide the service you ask for (contract); we are required by law to keep certain records (legal obligation); and it is in our legitimate interests to run, protect and improve our business, as long as this does not override your rights.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to make automated decisions about you.

Who we share it with

We only share your information where we need to: with our own staff and anyone helping us carry out your job; with our bank and payment providers to take or receive payment; with our insurers or advisers if there is a claim or a legal question; with regulators or authorities where the law requires; and with the email, phone, messaging (including WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger) and website services we use to run the business, including our website host, Netlify, which receives quote form requests. We ask those providers to protect your information.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the reasons above. Business and payment records are kept for as long as the law requires, which is usually six years for tax purposes. After that we delete or anonymise it.

This website

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies on this website. When you view the site, your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your device contacts Google when the page loads. Our “Find us on Google”, “Find us on Facebook” and “Find us on LinkedIn” links take you to Google, Facebook and LinkedIn, and our WhatsApp and Messenger buttons open WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, which are run by Meta. Each of these has its own privacy policy, and if you message us on WhatsApp or Messenger, that service handles your message under its own terms as well as ours. When you send our quote form, your details are passed to us through Netlify, the company that hosts this website, which stores them so we can reply to you. If we add analytics or advertising, we will update this policy.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

To use any of these rights, email or phone us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
